Open Board Gaming

At Tabletop Oahu, we want to encourage people to meet new friends and gamers and try new games! If you know you’d like to play a particular game at the convention and want to invite fellow attendees to join you, you can submit a game to our schedule for other attendees to join!

What you need…

You just need a couple things to submit a game to the schedule.

First, in order to play a game, you’ll obviously need a copy of the game. You can either check that game out of our massive game library, or bring the game from home.

Once you know what game you’re going to play and how you’ll be getting it, you’ll need to set a time for the game. We have a ton of open tables, so any time during the convention will likely be approved!

You’ll also need an idea of the length of the game (a guess based on the box is more than fine!), how many players you want to join you, and the appropriate age range for the game.

Submitting your Game

Here’s a guide on how to submit your game.

When you first visit the event submission page, you’ll be offered a drop down. You’ll probably want to select “Open Board Game”

As you go through the page, you’ll be asked a bunch of questions about your game, like the name of the game, a description (you may want to just grab from Board Game Geek), more information URL (you may want to grab that URL from BGG too)

Everything is fairly straight-forward from there, but you may need to know the following too:

Spaces Needed – This refers to tables needed and should generally always be 1.

Will Event Host Also Play the Game – Are you planning on teaching the game, or will you also be playing, meaning 1 less than the max number of tickets will be available.

Reserved Tickets for Attendees – Do you have a friend you know is going to be playing with you? You can “reserve” a ticket for them, which will decrease the number of available tickets to the public by the number you put here.
